Trends Zone presented by Khalil Design

test

Discover the future of automotive interiors at the new Trend Zone by Khalil Design, Official Trends Partner of Automotive Interiors Expo Europe.

Launching at Vehicle Tech Week Europe 2026, this immersive feature area will explore six future-focused trend directions shaping the next generation of mobility design. From intelligent textiles and bio-based materials, to sensory surfaces and personalised craftsmanship, the zone will bring emerging interior trends to life through material storytelling, colour forecasting and tactile experiences.

Created in collaboration with Klaudia Design, the Trend Zone offers a visionary look at how design, technology and human experience are redefining the vehicle cabin.

New Minerality

New Minerality

New Minerality evolves into metallic terrain, stones that appear forged, oxidised, and time-worn yet quietly luminous. Weathered surfaces brushed with iridescent sheens; steel blues, mica silvers, oil-slick azures and mineral charcoals shifting gently with the light.

Multilayered textures that feel sedimented and stratified: cracked glazes, brushed metals, veined marbles, pearlescent surfaces, and oxidised finishes. A balance of erosion and radiance — aged, yet subtly futuristic.

Matter in Flux

Matter in Flux

Matter in Flux explores the beauty of transition, where materials exist not as fixed states, but as evolving conditions. Surfaces shift between clarity and opacity, polish and roughness, solidity and diffusion, capturing a moment of continuous transformation.

Rooted in the atmosphere of liminal spaces, this direction draws from fog, haze, and blurred boundaries, where perception is softened and forms begin to dissolve. Materials appear to morph and migrate, with textures that feel in motion and structures that resist permanence.

Post-Digital Touch

Post-Digital Touch

Post-Digital Touch unfolds as a rebalancing of the digital and physical, where technology is no longer experienced as separate or immersive, but as embedded, integrated, and sensorial.

The mood is heightened yet grounded; a sense of calm hybridity where the digital becomes tactile, responsive, and emotionally legible. It moves beyond spectacle into intimacy, where interaction feels closer to touch, gesture, and presence, and where interfaces soften into lived experience.

Earth Bound

Earth BoundEarth Bound unfolds as a grounded return to natural systems, where sustainability is expressed through observation of landscape, ecology, and cycles of regeneration. In a state of scarcity, this trend reorients toward abundance — not as excess, but as the recognition of nature’s capacity to multiply, restore, and sustain life through interconnected systems. The mood is serene and life-affirming — a sense of expansion and vitality rooted in growing ecosystems, where design celebrates interconnection, abundance, and continuous becoming. It carries an optimistic energy drawn from nature’s own intelligence, where resilience is expressed through growth, adaptation, and flourishing complexity.

Crafted Identities

Crafted Identities

Crafted Identity evolves into expressive ornamentation and modular self-authorship, where personalisation becomes a curated language shaped by fine art sensibilities and deeply rooted in cultural craft traditions. It is a mood of intentional richness and composed excess — where individuality is not loud for its own sake, but carefully constructed through layering, detail, and crafted decision-making.

There is a sense of authored expression, carrying a feeling of intimacy and intention, as if each piece holds the trace of its maker’s hand and thought, balancing vibrancy with quiet control and emotional precision.

Kinetic Flow

KINETIC FLOW

Kinetic Flow unfolds as a systems-led approach to safety, where protection is embedded in responsiveness, precision, and continuous calibration. In environments defined by speed, movement, and volatility, safety becomes integrated rather than static; delivered through predictive technologies, adaptive infrastructures, and real-time control systems that stabilise without disrupting momentum. The mood is composed and streamlined, balancing acceleration with assurance. It reflects a future where safety is experienced through fluidity, intelligent motion, and seamless control under pressure.
